Sewer Camera Inspections & Pipe Locating
Envirosight VeriSight Pro camera with a 512 MHz sonde locator — see exactly what is in the line, and exactly where.
When cleaning the drain isn't enough, we use an array of tools to pinpoint and locate trouble and/or broken areas in a line, in order to minimize damage to existing structures and flooring. Guessing where a sewer lateral runs is how driveways, patios and finished basement floors get opened up twice. A camera and a locator turn that guess into a measured mark on the ground.
We run an Envirosight VeriSight Pro sewer camera with an onboard 512 MHz sonde pipe locator, color picture, gyroscopic camera head, foot counter and a 200 ft reel. The gyroscopic head keeps the picture upright so you can actually tell the bottom of the pipe from the top, and the foot counter tells us how far down the line a defect sits. Paired with Ridgid and Prototek locating equipment, we can mark the path and the approximate depth of the line on the surface above it.
Everything records to a USB 2.0 flash drive, so the footage can be transferred to a PC and emailed wherever it needs to go — to you, to your insurance adjuster, to a real-estate agent, or to the excavator who will do the dig — along with an email description of what we found. You are not taking our word for it; you are looking at your own pipe.
A camera inspection is the right call when a main line backs up repeatedly, when a drain cleans out but will not stay clean, when you see sinkholes or unusually green patches in the yard above the lateral, when a slab-level drain is suspected of being broken, or when you simply want documentation of a line's condition before you spend money on it.
Inspections are scheduled out of our Raytown shop and we cover the Greater Kansas City metro. Call (816) 313-0800 to set one up, and ask for Bob if you want to talk through what you are seeing before you book.
